Josh Green
Josh began his motorsport career with a small dune buggy in a forest behind his childhood home. From this track, raked from leaves and lined with sticks and fallen trees, his drive for motor racing was born.
He quickly found his way to a local indoor kart track, Grand Prix New York, where he raced in seasonal leagues before heading up to Oakland Valley Race Park as the next logical step. His karting career truly began in 2015 and lasted for 4 years. Racing both regionally and nationally, he won the WKA Manufacturers Cup title in Junior and went on to win a multitude of large-scale national races and lead the championship in the United States Pro Kart Series.
In 2019, Josh added a formula car racing program to his karting schedule and immediately showed his natural abilities running in the FRP F1600 Championship Series. He won eight races and finished on the podium in 18 of the 21 races, finishing second overall in the championship battle. This season-long performance caught the eye of Team USA Scholarship’s Jeremy Shaw, who invited Josh to the program’s shootout at Road America that September. Green rose to the challenge and was one of the two drivers selected to join Team USA at the Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy events in the UK. Josh finished in the top-10 at the Festival and was the top qualifier in the wet for the WHT at Silverstone. He then made his Road to Indy debut at Portland in September, finishing in the top-10 in the second race of the USF2000 doubleheader on his first weekend in the Tatuus USF-17
For the following two years, Josh made the step up into USF2000, splitting his time between Cape Motorsports and Turn 3 Motorsport. Across the two seasons, he achieved 6 podiums and 1 win, finishing 6th and 5th in the championship, respectively.
In 2022, Josh stepped up to the Indy Pro 2000 Championship with Turn 3 Motorsport. During the season, he accomplished 1 win, 2 poles, and 4 podiums. A successful and competitive campaign as a rookie in the series. In 2023, Josh stepped up to the Firestone INDY NXT series with HMD Motorsports, again piloting the #3 car.
In 2024, Josh made his sports car debut with Thaze Competition in the #78 Mercedes AMG GT4 car. He competed in one Michelin Pilot Challenge event and multiple VP Challenge events. In his 5 races this season he would achieve 4 podiums and 1 win.
2025 was his first full season in sports cars, joining Random Vandals Racing and BMW M Motorsport in Pirelli GT4 America. Teamed up with Bronze driver Sam Craven, the two would go on to win the Pro-Am championship with 5 wins and 9 podiums to their credit. This also marked Josh’s first championship in professional motorsports.
Josh is a free agent for 2026. He is FiA Driver Categorization – Silver.
